Most of the Netherlands’ universities dropped in this year’s international rankings of the 916 top universities by QS. Last year there were five Dutch universities in the top 100, this year there are only two, NOS reports.
The University of Amsterdam is the highest ranked Dutch university on the list at 57th place, two places down from last year. TU Delft is made it to 62nd place, up two spots. The universities of Leiden, Utrecht and Groningen dropped from the top 100.
After TU Delft, only two other Dutch universities climbed in the rankings compared to last year – Wageningen University and University of Twente.
Tilburg University dropped the most, from 293rd to 330th place.
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology, better known by its acronym MIT, came in 1st place for the fifth year in a row.
