Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, who’s the son of veteran movie star Pete Edochie, has shared a post on Instagram, suggesting that he seeks to contest the forthcoming Anambra governorship election.
Although some of his followers say it may be a publicity stunt for a movie, Edochie shared a campaign poster with an accompanying caption saying, “We need a new brand of leaders who will put the masses first. The older ones have failed us for too long”.
In a second post, he wrote, “They have come to the last bust stop”.
If indeed Edochie runs, the 35-year-old would be among the young Nigerians veering into a career in politics.
Although his post didn’t mention the party he is affiliated to, the actor would be going against a dozen candidates spread across parties – some of which are Andy Uba and Ifeanyi Ubah.

Kate Henshaw, meanwhile, lost at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primary election.
She had aspired to represent Calabar Municipal/Odukpani at the house of representatives.
Desmond Elliot, actor-director, was one of the few successful entertainers who got elected into office.
He presently represents Surulere 1 constituency at the Lagos state house of assembly.
